?? The birthplace of Pink Floyd is located a few metres from the neuralgic crossroads between Regent’s and Oxford Street, better known as Oxford Circus: it is the Polytechnic of the University of Westminster, where students Roger Waters and Nick Mason met in 1963.
They would soon be joined by Richard Wright and form a sextet called Sigma 6, although this was not the only name the fledgling musicians flirted with until they ended up as The Pink Floyd Sound.
The embryonic Floyd would rehearse precociously in a basement of this Institute.
A few months later, Waters would meet up again with a childhood friend from Cambridge, called Roger Keith Barrett but better known as Syd. The two met in London and it was only a matter of a few years before they became one of the leading bands of the psychedelic movement.
The commemorative plaque recently unveiled by Roger Waters and Nick Mason is a fitting tribute to one of the most important bands of all time.

Pocos meses después, Waters se reencontraría con un amigo de su infancia en Cambridge, llamado Roger Keith Barrett pero más conocido como Syd. Ambos se encontraron en Londres y fue cuestión de pocos años hasta que se convirtieran en una de las bandas líderes del movimiento psicodélico.
La plaqueta conmemorativa y que descubrieran hace poco tiempo Roger Waters y Nick Mason es un justo homenaje para una de las bandas más importantes de todos los tiempos.
